Boys' hoops celebrates great season
Coach Eric Wilson and the Fonda-Fultonville boys basketball team
gave Braves fans something to cheer about this winter. They
racked up the WAC North title in convincing fashion. They broke
40 years of history and captured the Section II Class B
championship.
They had hoped for more, but saw their season come to a
disappointing end Friday evening, Mar. 12 at Hudson Valley
Community College. A last-second three-point attempt rattled
around the rim and out and with it came a 54-51 loss at the
hands of the Plattsburgh Hornets in the New York State Class B
regional game.
The Braves finish the season 12-0 in the WAC and 22-1 overall!
Thanks to Joe Chase, Mike Downing, Tyler Hall, Kyle Hanson, Seth
Hidde, Brandon Mercado, Sean Myers, Luke Nethaway, Brett Noonan,
James Sheehan, and Matt Sheehan for giving us such a thrilling
season!
Next year's team will face stiff competition as it moves to the
Colonial Council. Although the regular season competition will
be tough, the Braves have proven they have what it takes to
square off with their Class B foes.
