Fonda-Fultonville the top winner in Price Chopper's "Tool for
Schools"
It may not seem like much. You go online or fill out a form that
credits your Price Chopper AdvantEdge card purchases to your
school. Then week after week, you purchase your groceries—and so
do your neighbors and your relatives. It all added up.
Your efforts paid off in a huge fashion when Price Chopper
announced that Fonda-Fultonville Central School was the Grand
Prize Winner based on Total Tape Value in the 2008-09 "Tools for
Schools" promotion. The award is even more impressive
considering that 3200 schools in New York, Pennsylvania, and New
England competed for the prize.
Fonda-Fultonville Tools for Schools coordinator Robyn Rose,
Superintendent Dr. James Hoffman, High School Principal Dave
Halloran, and several students representing the district proudly
accepted the award of 350,000 Bonus Value Tape Points during a
special ceremony at the Johnstown Price Chopper on May 14. Store
Co-Manager Karla Putman and Community Ambassador for Price
Chopper Mark Autilio presented the group with an oversized check
to mark the occasion. The points will be
redeemed for valuable school supplies. The district had
previously received a complete audio-visual package as one of
the top 200 schools.
“This year FFCS received a ton of playground supplies for our
elementary school, new microscopes for our middle school science
program and several items including wireless presentation
tablets, a camcorder and stereo system for our high school.
These are all items that FFCS students would not have due to the
current budget situation. On behalf of the students and staff at
FFCS I would like to thank Price Chopper and all the shoppers
who have designated Fonda Fultonville as their school to receive
Tools for School points,” said Mrs. Rose
Residents will have the opportunity participate again in the
2009-2010 school year. New next year will be a
1,000-bonus-point-program. Any school that submits by e-mail to
info@shoppercredit.com their “School Supply List” with their
school code by September 30th earns 1,000 bonus points. Price
Chopper wants to make sure parents and teachers get all the
school supplies required by their school. Double points can be
earned for all school supplies purchased at Price Chopper. Over
40,000 Tools for Schools parents shopped for school supplies at
Price Chopper last year!
Based in Schenectady, NY, the Golub Corporation owns and
operates over 100 Price Chopper grocery stores in New York,
Vermont, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and New
Hampshire.
