Rice named a Special Education head
The FFCS Board of Education named Scott Rice as the district's
new Director of Special Education at its regular June 21 board
meeting. Mr. Rice replaces outgoing director Dr. Connie Spohn.
For the past four years, Mr. Rice served as the Director of
Special Education for the Cambridge Central School District, and
served in a similar capacity for the Germantown Central School
District prior to that.
A committee of teachers and administrators interviewed all the
candidates and unanimously selected him as the top choice. The
Board of Education agreed after interviewing the
three finalists. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience
in special education. The committee and the board feel he will
be a strong addition to Fonda-Fultonville Central School.
He will assume his responsibilities on August 2.
