The Fulton County YMCA School-Age Child Care Program provides supervised and safe recreational and educational activities for children after school.

Program Hours:
YMCA School-Age Child Care meets from the end of the school day until 5:30 p.m. The program does not meet on days off or snow days. When all afternoon activities are cancelled by the school, the after school program will be cancelled as well.

Whenever possible, Special Activity Days will run at the Johnstown or Gloversville Branch YMCA for all elementary age children. Programming on these days run from
9 a.m.- 4 p.m. with additional supervision available from 4 p.m.-5:30 p.m. Special registration is required at the YMCA facilities and a minimal fee is charged for the day. (Activities for a Special Day may include swimming, movies, arts and crafts, gym time, etc…)

Pick-Up forms are an important part of the Child Care Application. Parents are required to provide a list of names and phone numbers of individuals allowed to pick up their child/ren. Children will not be released to individuals not listed on the form. Children may only be picked up by an adult (18 years or older). In the event that a child is not picked up as scheduled and no prior notice has been given to staff and parents cannot be contacted, staff will call individuals on the list to pick up the child.

Nutritious snacks will be provided daily to children participating in the program. From time to time, parents may be asked to provide the program with unique recipes or food that may be of interest to the children. Foods that reflect holiday tradition, regional flavors or other ethnic or cultural influences can help make snack time more interesting and help to develop an individual’s pride in family ethnic background. Parents are invited to send special snacks for birthdays if they wish. Parents should check with program staff before sending in snack items.

Parents are asked to notify child care staff if their child will be unable to attend the after school program due to sickness, vacations, leaving school early, or other reasons.

Parents are required to notify staff if they are removing their child from the program for any reason. Parents who fail to notify staff will be charged for the time children are registered in the program even if they have not attended. Please remember that another child may be waiting for a spot in the program.

Children are not allowed to bring Gameboys or trading cards to the School Age Child Care Program.
