To be considered for the National Honor Society, a student must:

  • Be enrolled in the first semester of junior year
  • Have a cumulative average of 90
  • Be pursuing a Regents Diploma

Students who meet this criteria must complete a student activity form and submit it to the NHS Faculty Council. 

The National Honor Society establishes four pillars for membership:

  • Scholarship
  • Leadership
  • Character
  • Service

These pillars form the foundation for eligibility in the National Honor Society. The final selection of members for the National Honor Society will be made by the NHS Faculty Council.
