Senior raises the bar for community service
Around college application time, many students
scramble to find acts of community service that they can include
on their applications. For FFCS senior Lauren Crandall,
community service is not a one-time event—it is a daily
commitment.
Her selfless efforts were recognized earlier
this year as the Amsterdam Family YMCA named her their 2010
Outstanding Senior Student of the Year.

Sign up for Driver Ed
Students who are at least 16 years old and
interested in Summer Driver Education can sign up in the high
school office. The $175 fee for FFCS students must be paid at
the time you sign up. State law requires that students attend
every class during the six-week program (no excuses for jobs,
vacations, etc.) The program runs July 1-August 13 and students
will be scheduled every other day based on their assigned
schedule. On June 14, we will open the sign ups for non-resident
students at a cost of $325.00. Please contact the high school

Guidance department launches Facebook page
Guidance Counselor Deana Lenz has started a Fonda-Fultonville
Guidance Department group on Facebook. The purpose of the group
is to communicate important Guidance information to students,
parents and FFHS staff.
In today's electronic age, it is important to communicate in as
many ways as possible. You can find guidance information on the
school website, but not everyone is in the habit of checking the
site routinely. The Facebook group is just another way to get
information to the people who need it.
Please visit often for updates regarding college/career
planning, scholarships/financial aid, academic advisement and
assistance with social/emotional development. To visit, search
groups for Fonda-Fultonville Guidance Department or simply
click here. (Remember Facebook is not accessible from school
computers.)

Is your emergency contact information up-to-date?
If your child became seriously ill at school, could we reach
you? If there were an emergency school closing, how would we let
you know?
Whether for a snow day or some school emergency, school
officials occasionally need to contact parents/guardians with
important information. We rely on the emergency contact
information that you provide at the beginning of each year. But,
people move; phone numbers and e-mail addresses change. In the
event of an emergency, could we reach you? Don't leave things to
chance; please contact your school with any changes to your
emergency contact information.
