4Students Read
More Than
2 Million Minutes

On Monday, June 20 the final Revved Up To Read event of the year
was held. The event kicked off with Elementary Media Specialist
Sue Wolf, Principal Alicia Henry and others riding into the gym
on mini "chopper" bikes. This year F-F elementary students read
a total of 2,049,003 minutes, exceeding the goal of 2 million
set at the beginning of the year. To honor their achievements
several prizes were raffles off including Wal-Mart gift
certificates, duffle bags, and of course, the bikes.
The Revved Up To Read
program is an offshoot from the school's Reading First
initiative, which is designed to help all children read at or
above grade level by the time they are in third grade.
