4Teacher
chosen for "Educator of the Week"
Fonda-Fultonville first grade
teacher Mrs. Patty Turnbull is someone who "educates the whole
child." She is someone who makes students feel good about
themselves, and is interested in their well being. She is someone
who works long hours, and makes learning an enjoyable activity
rather than a chore.
These are just some of the
ways Connie DaBiere described Mrs. Turnbull when she nominated her
for "New York Lottery's Educator of the Week" - a segment that airs
on WNYT-TV NewsChannel 13.
Recently Mrs. Turnbull
learned she would be awarded the honor, and on Wednesday, March 15
she will be the subject of the segment, which airs during the 5:30
p.m. newscast.
DaBiere's daughter Ashley,
now in third grade, was in Mrs. Turnbull's class two years ago.
"Her dedication to the
teaching profession and devotion to her students is so rare these
days," DeBiere wrote in her nomination letter. "She goes above and
beyond the call of duty "ALL OF THE TIME," and for no reward or
recognition, but for the love of her students."
Mrs. Turnball has been
teaching first grade at F-F Elementary School for 30 years.
Everyone at FFCSD would like to congratulate Mrs. Turnbull for
receiving this recognition.
