Brothers come to F-F
On Friday, Dec. 2 students and staff at Fonda-Fultonv ille
Elementary were singing at the Hills Brothers "Joy of Reading"
concert. The concert was presented as part of the elementary
Character Education Rock 'n Read celebrations.
Students clapped, sang and
danced to the Hills Brothers. One of the funniest activities was
the B game. The students had to stand up when they heard the b
sound. Then they had to sit down when they heard it again. The
Hills Brothers sang, "My Bonnie lies over the Ocean". The students
were in motion, going up and down with each b sound they heard.
Then the teachers had to try it.
The showstopper was a piggyback song "Reading Machine". The song
was based on the beat of the Bee Gees song "Stayin' Alive".
Teachers and students were selected to disco dance on stage as the
Hills Brothers and the audience sang along. Students were reminded
to read nightly for 10 - 20 minutes, record their time read, and
to hand in their forms at the end of each month.
For further information on
the Hills Brothers,
visit their
Web site.
A special thanks to Mrs. Capron for making arrangement for the
concert and to Ms. Pegrum for teaching the Hills Brothers songs to
her kindergarten students.
