teaches kindergartners about fire safety
Volunteer fireman JD Downing spent an afternoon
in Stacey Lee's kindergarten class teaching the students about
fire safety. He talked about thinks such as why it is important
to have smoke detectors and what to do in case of a fire.
He also dressed up in his full firefighting
gear. It was a frightening costume—pants, coat, hat, boots, a
full respirator, and oxygen tank. The children soon understood
that under the gear was the same Mr. Downing and that they had
ne reason to be afraid of a fireman.
