Luck
of the Irish eludes kindergartners
Mrs. Hanifin and Mrs. Lee's classes celebrated St. Patrick's Day
in the spirit of the Irish— they went on a leprechaun hunt. To
help find the troublesome and elusive creatures, the students
searched
around the school using "leprechaun finders" they made in the
classroom. Looking high and low, inside and out, they had no
luck finding the mystical creatures of Irish folklore. To the
students' surprise they returned to their rooms to discover that
during their search, the mischievous leprechauns had snuck into
their classes and had made a mess of their
classrooms. The light-hearted hunt teaches lessons in mythology,
gives students a chance to practice their small-motor and
construction skills, and to have a little fun in school.
Maybe next year's kindergarten class will have better luck on
their hunt!?
