Is your emergency contact information up-to-date?
If your child became seriously ill at school, could we reach
you? If there were an emergency school closing, how would we let
you know?
Whether for a snow day or some school emergency, school
officials occasionally need to contact parents/guardians with
important information. We rely on the emergency contact
information that you provide at the beginning of each year. But,
people move; phone numbers and e-mail addresses change. In the
event of an emergency, could we reach you? Don't leave things to
chance; please contact your school with any changes to your
emergency contact information.

Addressing questions concerning arrest of parents for failing to
register their children
On January 5, 2010, both “The Daily Gazette” newspaper and WRGB
television reported that local parents had been charged with
endangering the welfare of a child for failing to register their
children with the local school district. Although the article
was accurate, it did not include all of the details causing many
of its readers to draw inaccurate conclusions. In fairness to
the family and to the school district, Fonda-Fultonville Central
School District Superintendent Dr. James Hoffman issues the
following clarification: (read

Setting the Record Straight
In a December press conference, Governor Paterson said
that on average, 71 percent of school costs are administrative. The
fact is, that the average cost of all personnel in any given
district is about 70 percent - not surprising since schools are
basically in the "people business." In Fonda-Fultonville, costs for
personnel account for about 75 percent of the budget, with only 8.4
percent of that going toward administrative costs. (see
actual breakdown of expenses)
Blood drive exceeds goal
Thanks to all who rolled up their sleeves on
Friday, Nov. 6, the High School Student Government
exceeded their donation goal at the annual American Red Cross
drive. Students and staff donated 52 units surpassing the goal
of last year's total of 40 units.
Let's do it again!
Every two seconds, someone in our country needs
blood. Yet, only five percent of Americans give blood, so the Red
Cross is constantly seeking donations. Student Government is
stepping up to help meet that need by hosting a second blood drive
on Monday, March 8 at FFCS. (more
